Pikey Peak Trek is a newly opened trekking trail in the world-famous Everest region. The goal of the trek is to reach Pikey Peak (4067 m) which is the only peak that offers splendid views of four of the highest peaks in the world: Mt Everest (8,848 m./29,035 ft), Mt Kanchanjanga (8,586 m./28,165 ft), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m./27,935 ft.) and Mt Makalu (8,463 m./27,760 ft).

Pikey Peak is named after a Sherpa deity and hence the Peak is sacred, and regularly worshipped by the Sherpa community of the Everest region. The Pikey Peak trek is a wonderful journey that crisscrosses Sherpa and Tamang villages, green terraced fields, and forests of rhododendron, hemlock, and magnolia. One of the highlights of the Peak Pike trek is a visit to Dudh Kunda, a high-altitude lake situated on the bosom of Mt Numbur. The region is diverse in flora and fauna with at least five different species of rhododendrons recorded in this region.

The people here follow Buddhist culture and tradition as is evident by the numerous Buddhist stupas, mani stones, and centuries-old monasteries. The Sherpa festival of Dumjee is a cultural fiesta not to be missed in which monks perform an enchanting sacred dance called Chham.

Only a few trekkers visit this trail and there are no lodges available along the trail. Before only camping trekking was made but nowadays, tea houses are available along the trek. The suitable trekking season for Pikey Peak is highly suggested from September to October (autumn) and March to April (Spring). The lower part of Everest is ideal for family holidays.
