Mt. Everest (8848 m), the highest mountain in the world, straddles the border between Nepal and China (Tibetan Autonomous Region). Which means you can approach Everest base camp from either the Nepal side or the Tibet side.
Everest Base Camp on the China side is called North Everest Base Camp, which is located at an altitude of 5150 m.
