Everest View Trek is a short trekking expedition in the Khumbu region about 200 to 300 kilometers away from Kathmandu. This trek takes the trekkers to Tengboche (3855 meters) as this place offers a majestic view of Mount Everest from the shortest distance. During the Everest View Trek, trekkers will be accompanied by several forests, rivers, valleys, hills, villages, and also the warm hospitality offered by the locals in the remote part of the country.

Everest View Trek begins as the trekkers board on a flight from Kathmandu to Manthali or Lukla. From there, we walk up to Phakding and then to the Namche Bazaar. Namche certainly is an amazing place to be because of the facilities, services, and views it offers. Besides, Namche is also the acclimatization center of the Everest View Trek just like any other trekking in the Everest region.

During the acclimatization, trekkers can also complete several side quests (day hikes). After one day of acclimatization, we continue the Everest View Trek journey and ascend higher. Our ascending journey ends once trekkers find themselves in the Tengboche Monastery. From there, we take the perfect view of Everest and then start the descending journey back to Lukla and then to Kathmandu via flight.

The Everest View Trek itinerary is very short but the adventure and adrenaline rush one experiences during this amazing walk remain for a lifetime. Remember that the Everest View Trek Map is not just for viewing the mountain, it is more about experiencing and witnessing the lifestyle, tradition, culture, and religious aspects of the Himalayas of Nepal. Itinerary

An awesome start for the Everest View Trek starts with a scenic flight from Kathmandu or Manthali to Lukla. Normally the flight takes place from Kathmandu but during the busy trekking season, you may have to first reach Manthali on a 5-hour long drive and then take a 20-minute long flight to Lukla. If you do not want to go for the drive, you can also take a direct helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla.

As you reach the airport, you will meet our representatives (your guides). They will then receive you and the trekkers will set off for the first part of the Everest View Trek, a trek from Lukla to Phakding. Phakding is a beautiful village at an altitude of 2650 meters.

The route is mesmerizing as it starts with a downhill for 200 meters till Thado Khola. After that, the Everest View Trekking route goes all the way past several villages, rivers, forests, waterfalls, suspension bridges, and so much more that nature can offer. We cross the Thado Khola via a suspension bridge accompanied by the mesmerizing sightings of Mt. Kusum Kanguru. After walking for several hours, we finally reached Phakding.

After spending a night in the comfort of the Lodge in Phakding, trekkers wake up early in the morning, have a tasty breakfast, and then ascend another part of the Everest View Trek. Today, the journey leads from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 meters/11285 ft). Namche Bazaar is a beautiful destination, famous as the trading hub between Nepal and China. You can get a lot of facilities which many people do not expect at such high altitudes.

The route between Phakding to Namche Bazaar of the Everest View Trekking journey goes all the way beside the Dudh Koshi River banks through several suspension bridges, including the Hilary suspension bridge. Besides that, the trekkers can also walk past several forests, rivers, hills, rhododendron blooms, and a beautiful Sherpa village named Monjo. A little ahead of Monjo, we reach the check post where the trekkers need to get their permits registered to enter the Sagarmatha National Park.

After entering the Sagarmatha National Park and walking through a dense forest, we can start getting the view of Mount Everest in the distance. Finally, after about 6 hours of trekking, we reach Namche Bazaar.

Until we reach Namche Bazaar, we will already cross an altitude of 3000 meters. As we all know crossing an altitude of 3000 meters means that we are prone to altitude sickness. Therefore, to stay safe and adapt at such a high altitude, Global Adventure Trekking arranges the third day of the Everest View Trek as the acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar.

Nevertheless, this acclimatization day also consists of some side treks or day hikes. Here, trekkers can either go to visit the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor Centre or choose the day hike to Khumjung and Khunde. Moreover, during your stay at Namche Bazaar, you can also witness so much of facilities like internet-linked cafes, pubs, restaurants, etc.

Another perfect thing to do during the acclimatization day in Namche is to go for the day hike to the Everest View Hotel. This day hike takes you to the five-star hotel at the highest altitude of almost 4000 meters. As the whole journey is called the Everest View Trek, this day hike can serve as a perfect optional trek. Regardless of which day hike you choose, the Global Adventure Trekking team requests all the trekkers to return to the hotel at Lukla for dinner and sleeping purposes.

On the fourth day, trekkers will reach the final checkpoint of the Everest View Trekking map. We start the trek after having breakfast in Namche Bazaar. A gradual ascend takes the trekkers into the beauty of wildlife and a spectacular view of Mount Everest. Nevertheless, on clear days, you can be subjected to an even better experience.

This part of the Everest View Trek route also offers the sighting of several animals like musk deer, Himalayan Thar, and pheasants. Besides, the traditionally-influenced stone houses built with stones also grab your eye. After walking for 5 hours and ascending from 3440 meters to 3855 meters, we finally reached Tengboche. This place is best known as the oldest monastery in the Everest region. This place also offers one of the most mesmerizing views of the Ama Dablam Peak.

After spending one evening and a cool night at Tengboche, we start the descending part of the Everest View Trek. The descending route is pretty much easier than the ascending one for sure. On the fifth day, we reach Tengboche to Namche Bazaar after walking for around 5 hours. This part of the Everest View Trek offers you time to express your feelings and experiences while in Tengboche.

During this trail, trekkers pass through several prayer flags, Chortens, rivers, waterfalls, villages, and so much more. Finally, we reached the hotel at Namche Bazaar in the evening and had a proper dinner before sleeping for the night.

From Namche Bazaar, our next destination will be Lukla, the place from where we take the final flight to Kathmandu. Almost at the end of the Namche Bazaar to Lukla route of the Everest View Trek, we need to cross the Dudh Koshi River Valley. Once we reach Lukla, the trekkers will check in at the hotel, get freshened up, and relax for some time. Today, the Global Adventure Trekking team also offers you a farewell dinner and a time to celebrate the success of the Everest View Trekking journey.

After having a beautiful expedition in the Everest View Trek, we get on the flight from Lukla to Kathmandu on the seventh day. If we fly from Lukla to Kathmandu, it takes around 35 minutes. However, if the flight goes to Manthali, the trekkers need to get on a 5 hour long drive from Manthali to Kathmandu. Once we reach Kathmandu, the Everest View Trekking package officially comes to an end.

  • Prioritize hydration as much as possible. Drink healthy and pure water before and during the trekking journey. We suggest the trekkers drink at least 1 liter of water after every kilometer of the hike.

  • Eat as much healthy food as possible but do not, at any cost, go for the unhealthy and fast food.
  • Listen to the guides and respect their decisions while ascending the Everest View Trek map.
  • Check and include all the necessary documents, permits, and other paperwork before starting the journey.

Risks of Altitude Sickness During the Everest View Trek and its Remedies

Altitude Sickness is a very common issue once anyone ascends higher than 3000 meters above sea level. If you feel like Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, headache, and weakness, that might be the clear symptoms of altitude sickness.
