Mt. Kailash or Kangri Rimpoche (6714m) is one of the most sacred mountains in the Tibet province of China. Kailash is revered by followers of Buddhism, Bon, Hinduism, and Jainism. Buddhists and Bons believe it is the place of enlightenment of Buddha and Guru Rimpoche. Hindus consider it as the abode of Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati while Jains regard it as the spot where their first saint Rishabh attained freedom or liberation.

Along with Kangri Rimpoche (Kailash), Mapam Yumtso lake or Manasarovar Lake Lake holds equal spiritual significance among the pilgrims. It is here that Buddhists believe Mayadevi bathed before giving birth to Buddha. For Hindus to dip in the lake will expunge them of all their mortal sins and pave the way for heaven.

Our Kailash tour offers you a lifetime opportunity to visit these two sacred places in Tibet. As part of this tour, you can make a complete circumambulation or kora of Mt. Kailash. The tour starts from Kathmandu as you cross the Nepal-China border from Kerung and reach Tibet. The journey to Tibet is on the vehicle except for 3 days of Kangri kora. You will cross Dolma La high pass (4760m) and reach nearly 5000m in altitude at Derapuk.

The Kailash pilgrimage tour is for 10 days from Kathmandu to Kathmandu. We assured you of your lifetime tour to Kailash at a reasonable cost.

Finally, the Tibet tour is open for 2023 and we are planning a trip for the Saga Dawa festival which falls on the 4th of Jun.

Saga Dawa festival is one of the most important festivals in Tibetan Buddhism. It falls on the 4th month of the Tibetan lunar calendar which runs from the 30th of May to the 14th of Jun. The 15th day of this lunar month is the full Moon day is called Saga Dawa. This festival celebrates only in Buddhist dominant territory in Tibet. The festival celebrates mostly Potala palace in Lhasa, Jokhang Monastery, and Darchen near Mt Kailash. It commemorates the name of Buddha. At Darchen, the pilgrimage erected the tallest prayer pole called the Tarboche prayer flagpole with hundreds of thousands of multicolor and lighting with pure yak butter lamps. These Saga Dawa festivals commemorate the birth, enlightenment, and Parinirvana on the revere of the greatest person Buddha.

So, if you are interested in the festival and Kailash parikrama (Kailash Kora) then plan your pilgrimage visit at this festive time of the Month.
