Itinerary

Today, you will begin your short Annapurna Base Camp trek with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapul. After reaching Nayapul, you will go on a 4-hour trek. The adventure passes through Modi Khola Valley and heads to Ghandruk Village.

On today’s journey, you will traverse moderate trails in the first half. In the second section, stone steps lead all the way to Ghandurck, which introduces you to the incredible Gurung culture of the region. You will also find stone-paved paths passing across the Himalayan waterfalls and terraced farms of the region.

Once you reach Ghandruk Village, you will be able to enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. You will spend the night in a traditional teahouse lodge in the village.

Ghandruk is the biggest Gurung locality. Take some time to visit the Gurung Museum for further insight into the culture and lifestyle of the region.

Your journey today begins with a scenic 6-hour trek from Ghandruk to Sinuwa. The trail ascends through lush rhododendron forests, crosses suspension bridges, and offers stunning Himalayan views including your first clear glimpse of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain).

From Ghandruk, you’ll follow the trail toward Chhomrong. Upon reaching Chhomrong, descend for about 45 minutes to a small river (Chhomrong Khola), cross a suspension bridge, and then hike uphill for roughly an hour through traditional villages before arriving in Sinuwa.

After a rewarding day on the trail, relax at a family-run teahouse and enjoy a warm meal of Nepali dal bhat. Rest well to prepare for the higher-altitude adventures ahead.

Your trek today begins with an ascent from Sinuwa to Deurali. During the trek, you will get into the alpine zone of the Annapurna Sanctuary and pass through bamboo forests and rocky moraines. During today’s trek, you will get panoramic views of Hinchuli and Machapuchhure's north face.

You will spend the night in a high-altitude teahouse in Deurali. As you have crossed the 3,000-meter elevation, we suggest keeping yourself hydrated and eating nutritious food to minimize the risks of altitude sickness symptoms (AMS symptoms).

Today is the highlight of your ABC trek. You will be trekking to the Annapurna Base Camp via Machhapuchhre Base Camp. During the journey, you will be surrounded by glacial moraines and towering peaks. This trail gives unparalleled views of Annapurna First’s south face and a close-up view of the iconic Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).

As you traverse the alpine meadows, the rocky moraine trail reveals the beauty of the Annapurna Sanctuary. You will spend the night at a mountain lodge. Explore ABC and capture life-long memories. From the Annapurna Base Camp, you can get views of the Annapurna Massif, including Annapurna I (8,091 m), Annapurna III (7,555 m), Annapurna South (7,219 m), Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), and Gangapurna (7,455 m).

Wake up for a stunning sunrise view from the natural Annapurna Base Camp amphitheatre. As you take in a 360° view of the landscape from ABC, you will find iconic mountains, including Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail), Annapurna III, Annapurna South, Gangapurna, and Hiunchuli. Watch the Himalayan panorama shine in hues of gold as the sun’s rays peek through the towering peaks. Relish the close-up view as you prepare for your descent.

Today, you will take on a 7-hour adventure through Modi Khola Gorge, bamboo forests, and cascading waterfalls before reaching Bamboo. You have an option to stay back at Bamboo, but this will mean hiking an extra 3 to 4 hours the following day.

From Bamboo, continue uphill toward Sinuwa through lush forests. Overnight stay in Sinuwa.

Today, you will return to Pokhara from Sinuwa to end your short Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. Begin your trek to Jhinu Danda via Chhumrung. The journey beginning from Sinuwa takes you on a downhill course. After crossing the suspension bridge, you take on an uphill hike for an hour to Chhumrung. After Chhumrung, the journey to a 45-minute downhill hike to Jhinu Danda is comparatively easy. At Jhinu Danda, you will stop for lunch.

After lunch, you can visit the famous mineral-rich natural hot springs beside the Modi Khola River. This is a perfect destination for a therapeutic session to soothe your tired muscles. Next, you will catch a shared jeep from Jhinu village and take a drive through the mountainous roads to Pokhara.

After 6 days Annapurna Base Camp trek, the journey ends in Pokhara. You can relax by the Fewa Lake and enjoy the bustling lakeside ambiance as you celebrate your incredible Annapurna Sanctuary journey.
