However, the ascending journey does not end there as we continue the ascend to the Kalapatthar View Point (5555 meters). Itinerary

Our short Everest Base Camp Trekking adventure begins with a flight to Lukla. During the regular season, the flight commences directly from Kathmandu to Lukla which takes around 40 minutes. However, during the peak seasons (March, April, May, September, October, and November), we need to drive from Kathmandu to Manthali and then fly from Manthali Airport to Lukla. This is about 5-6 hours of drive followed by 20 minutes of flight.

Nevertheless, if you do not want to hassle with a drive to Manthali to fly to Lukla, you can also opt for a helicopter charter from Kathmandu to Lukla that takes around 45 minutes. With a slight increase in your package budget, you can win the crowd and reach Lukla before anyone else even during the peak season.

As you reach Lukla, representatives (guides) from Global Adventure Trekking team take you on a trek towards Phakding. Phakding is a beautiful settlement at an altitude of 2650m. The brief and adventurous trek to Phakding marks an acclimatization on its own due to the change in altitude. By the end of the day, we will have dinner and sleep at a Lodge with attached toilet/bathroom.

It' the second day in the lap of Himalayas and we are already set to ascend above 3000 meters. Trekkers need to be careful on their ascend from Phakding to Namche Bazaar because the body becomes more vulnerable to altitude sickness once we ascend above 3000 meters. Today, we will reach Namche Bazaar, a trading hub between Nepal and China and also the most developed town in the entire Everest Base Camp Circuit.

As you reach this town, you can see several ATMs. lodges, hotels that offer all the facilities and variations of cuisines, and so much more, Besides, you can also interact with the locals (Sherpas) living here to take a sneak peek into their lifestyle, tradition, and culture. The route from Phakding to Namche is also equally amazing as we pass through several forests, rhododendron blooms, rivers, waterfalls, and suspension bridges. Moreover, trekkers can also witness several other traditionally set villages and settlements.

For the night, Global Adventure Trekking team arranges a comfortable and cozy hotel or guesthouse that offers delicious and fulfilling dinner.

If you had gone for a regular Everest Base Camp Trek, the third day would have been an acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar. However, in the short version of the Everest Base Camp Trek. we have canceled out the rest day. Therefore, the trekkers continue their journey to the EBC and trek from Namche to Tengboche on the third day.

Today, the journey can get slightly difficult that the starting two days because the route from Namche to Tengboche constantly elevates with lesser plains to walk on. Nevertheless, this part of the Everest Base Camp short Trek also starts offering spectacular views of several mountains like Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Moreover, trekkers will be accompanied by pine forests, and occasional sighting of some unique animals liked the Himalayan tahr. As we continue crossing several suspension bridges and ascending higher, we come across the part of the route that is completely decorated by prayer flags.

After such an amazing part of the short Everest Base Camp Trekking journey, the trekkers will be welcomed by a 20-foot-tall Buddha Statue on reaching Tengboche.

From Tengboche, a six hour long expedition takes the trekkers to another checkpoint, Dingboche (4360 meters). The route covers a total distance of 12 kilometers which might exhaust the trekkers at one point. However, with the final destination (Everest Base Camp) and the satisfaction you get once you reach here can build confidence and willpower within the trekkers.

Ascending from Tengboche to Dingboche takes you through a gradually elevating path passing through several rivers, forests, villages, tea houses, and terraced fields. Moreover, the path follows the Lobuche riverbank before entering the Imja Valley and reaching Dingboche. Once you reach Dingboche, you can expect mind-blowing and spectacular views of the Ama Dablam Peak (6812 meters) and Lhotse Peak (8516 meters). Explore the village and have dinner before sleeping at a hotel or lodge arranged by Global Adventure Trekking team.

Another day means another adventure waiting for the trekkers in the Everest Base Camp Short Trek. On the fifth day, we ascend from Dingboche to Lobuche, a village located at the base of the Lobuche Peak (6119 meters). You can also book the Lobuche Peak Climbing package with Adventure Trekking.

The Lobuche Base is located at an altitude of 4930 meters and you might find comparatively lesser tea houses or lodges from this point due to the high altitude inviting several obstacles. The route from Dingboche to Lobuche takes you past the Khumbu Glacier, the largest glacier in the Khumbu region. After about 5 hours of walk (depending upon trekker's pace), we step inside the the map of Lobuche, where you can see a stone pillar. This pillar was built as the memorial for the climbers who could not successfully return from the Everest Trekking trail.

After reaching Lobuche, you can explore the village and interact with the locals. We also suggest the trekkers to try out some of the local cuisines and shop from the nearby shops. By the evening, we will have dinner and sleep at a lodge arranged by Global Adventure Trekking.

Finally, it's the day trekkers will be standing on the Everest Base Camp. Yes. the EBC Short Trek journey takes us to the main destination of the entire package. We wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, and start walking towards the Everest Base Camp. It takes around 5-6 hours of trekking through a comparatively difficult trail to reach the base camp.

Once you reach the Base Camp, you can see so many climbers camping there and getting ready to summit the mighty Mount Everest. Furthermore, standing over the base camp of the tallest peak of the world is an achievement on itself. Explore the area, take as much photos and videos as you can, and make sure that you enjoy your time in the base camp.

Due to the extreme weather, unpredictable climate, and other factors, we will not spend much time in the Everest Base Camp. Therefore, on the same day, trekkers descend to Gorakshep where they will have dinner and sleep for the night.

Our representatives wake you up early in the morning and embrace on a hike to the highest point of the 10 Day Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary, the Kalapatthar Viewpoint (5555 meters). We go for this hike early in the morning to witness the first ray of sun striking the snow-capped peak of Mount Everest.

Besides, Kalapatthar is also famous as the spot to get the best view of several stunning mountains including Mount Everest, Nuptse, and Changtse. Trekkers can enjoy the view, click many photos and videos, and make as many memories as possible. After spending a couple of hours in Kalapatthar, we descend to Gorakshep for breakfast.

Our trek for the day does not end here because we again ascend towards Pheriche. The first section of the Gorakshep to Pheriche trek consists of rocky path over a portion of glacier which gradually turns into a comparatively simpler and easier route. Finally, we reach Pheriche by the afternoon, check in at the hotel, and freshen up. After that, the trekkers can explore the area before gathering for dinner and then sleeping for the night.

On the eighth day, we leave Pheriche and descend towards Namche Bazaar (3440 meters). The trekking journey commences with a rather difficult terrain slowly and gradually converting into a comparatively easier route surrounded by green landscapes. Besides, this part of the Short Everest Base Camp Trek also takes you through rhododendron blossoms, and offer chances to witness several wildlife like mountain goats, colorful pheasants, and rarely snow leopards.

On the final part of the trek, trekkers need to cross a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River before finally reaching Namche Bazaar. At Namche, the Global Adventure Trekking team will arrange a delicious dinner and overnight stay in a comfortable and cozy hotel or guesthouse.

We are in the second last day of the 10 Day Everest Base Camp Short Trek. So, today we descend from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2850 meters). This part of the short Everest Base Camp Map is comparatively easier than any other parts. However, the trekkers need to walk for about 6 to 7 hours and cover 13.5 kilometers on this day. Therefore, we request all the trekkers to have fulfilling breakfast, drink sufficient water, and carry some energy bars and snacks with them.

After such long hours of walking, we finally reach Lukla, where our team arranges a cozy hotel full of all the facilities you need. You can explore the area, have dinner and sleep for the day.

The flight from Lukla either takes you to Kathmandu or to Manthali (in the peak seasons). If you are lucky to get a direct flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, you can reach Kathmandu within 40 minutes. However, if the flight goes to Manthali, it will be a 20 minute flight followed by 5 hours of drive to Kathmandu. Nevertheless, if you want to escape this hassle, you can again opt for the helicopter charter from Lukla to Kathmandu.
