Jomsom-Muktinath trekking is a major trekking destination in the lower Mustang region. The Jomsom –Muktinath trail follows the path of the world-famous Annapurna Circuit trek exploring the villages of Jomsom, Kagbeni, Marpha, Thini, and Lubra. The highlight of this trek is a visit to the temple of Muktinath or locally called Chumig Gyatsa which is a sacred pilgrimage destination for Hindus and Buddhists.

The main features of the Jomsom-Muktinath trek are the walk past Kali Gandaki gorge, which is the deepest gorge in the world, formed between the tenth-highest Mt. Annapurna I (8091m) and seventh-highest Mt. Dhaulagiri (8164m) mountains in the world. The terrain encompasses everything from subtropical jungle to a high and dry landscape resembling the Tibetan plateau. Jomsom Muktinath Trek is an easy and short trek in the Annapurna region. Take an early morning flight to Jomsom and start the easy walk to Kagbeni through the Kaligandaki river. Nowadays there are bus services en route but the itinerary is out of the road services go through the other side of the mountain. The initial route is almost dead!

The Thakali community is the only inhabitant of this region. Their unique culture and Buddhist tradition are still alive in their lifestyles and century-old monasteries and temple in Muktinath. Lubra is the best place to know about the Bon religion. The trek is fit for trekkers of all ages and fitness as it easily allows you to reach the high mountains of the Himalayas within a short time frame and without ascending to extreme altitude. Finding the new trails to Jomsom Muktinath you may choose Global Adventure and escape from the road services and crowd. We are here to make your holiday more pleasurable and fun for sure.
