Everest Base Camp trek follows the standard trek itinerary with a careful approach to good acclimatization for two nights at Namche and Dingboche (4,420 m), which are already scheduled in the itinerary. While at Namche, you will hike to Syangboche and explore the hidden valley, Hillary School, a community hospital, and Everest viewpoint, and return to Namche for a comfortable night.

Your journey begins with your arrival in Kathmandu. Your trek leader will receive you at the airport and escort you to a four-star hotel in Kathmandu. The next day follows with a sightseeing tour to Durbar Square, Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. Remember, this program is suitable for your family and pen friends. 

Moreover, your Luxury Everest trip starts on day 3 as you fly to Lukla by a small twin-otter, The flight time is about half an hour, and your trek commences from here. While on the trek, you can see the Black Pea, Himalayan Fleabane, Himalayan Heather, and Edelweiss. Rhododendron is commonly seen in flowers, mountain goats, Musk Deer, clouded leopards, wild Yaks, and snow leopards are common wild animals in the Everest region.

What to expect at Comfort Everest Base Camp Trek?

Trekking to base camp is easier than any high-pass trek. The difficulty level of the trek is moderate, and no prior experience is required, but high altitude sickness can make it difficult. It is suggested that trekkers should have normal physical fitness. It also depends on which season you are going to trek in Everest base Camp; in winter, it is more difficult than in autumn and spring. Sometimes Remember, you are walking the whole day through the icy trail, ridge, and rocky path, but the views compensate for your whole effort.

How do you prepare for the Luxury Everest Trek?

Your preparation for the EBC trek depends on your physical condition. As long as you are healthy and fit, people from all walks of life and different age groups can do this trek easily. Normal, healthy people with a little bit of preparation before trekking and following a daily routine during the Everest trek will make it comfortable. Autumn (September to December) and spring (March to May) are the most favorable times of the year for the Everest Trek. However, if winter pushes more towards spring, it is expected to bring more snow at high elevations. The winter (December to February) and summer (Jun to August) weather is less favorable due to cold temperatures and monsoon rain for Mt. Everest trekking.

It is not recommended to buy all expensive equipment, some of the items, like sleeping bags and down jackets, can be rented in Kathmandu. Clothing and footwear are some of the most important elements during your Everest Base Camp trek. Day 01: Arrival In Kathmandu International Airport and Transfer to Hotel. 1,400 m./4,600 ft

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our dedicated airport representative will warmly welcome you, with a vibrant garland of Marigold flowers. You will be comfortably transferred to the Kathmandu Hotel for your comfortable and pleasant overnight stay.

We take a morning flight to Lukla (between 6-8 am) which is a scenic and exciting one. Upon arrival in Lukla, our Sherpa porters will meet at the airport and stop for breakfast. The trek is easy and smooth to Phakding offering a diverse landscape with waterfalls, rivers, and stone carvings in the boulders. Arrival and check-in at Yeti Mountain Home.

Note: In high season (October-November and April-May), all the STOL flights are conducted from Ramecheap-Lukla-Ramechap to avoid air traffic and delays. Kathmandu to Ramechap is 130 km/4 hours. The flight to Lukla from Ramechap is just 15 minutes.

Your journey to Namche through Pine and oak forest along the Dudh Koshi. After crossing a suspension bridge and passing small settlements Japute, Toktak, and Banker, we reach Manjo. Ahead of Manjo (Lunch), there is a Sagarmatha National Park Permit check post. Again, cross the Hillary Bridge, the path ascends quite high and usually, it will take around 2:30–3:00 hours to reach the Namche Bazar. Once you reach Namche, you can enjoy your evening with coffee and cake with a splendid view of the surroundings.

Spend your second night in Namche Bazar for effective acclimatization to the high altitude. Namche is a fascinating and renowned town with many facilities. After your breakfast, embark on a day hike to Everest View Hotel, Stop there for the best view of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest. You can enjoy it with hot tea/coffee sitting in the sun, just in front of the jaw-dropping views. After some time, descend to Khumjug and Khunde villages to explore the local culture and lifestyle of the Sherpa people. After some time, return to Namche for the night.

The trekking trail provides a delightful experience with breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and many more. The journey continues through the blossoming, colorful, and vibrant Rhododendron forest. This part is rich in wildlife, including Pheasant, Musk deer, and Himalayan Thar. Descending to the riverside and sharp uphill to Tengboche Monastery. Tengboche rewards with magnificent views, including Ama Dablam, Everest, and its surroundings. This is the oldest monastery in the Khumbu region. Accommodation in Trekkers Lodge, including the attached bathroom.

The journey descends through the Rhododendron and pine forest along the small village of Pangboche, with Chorten and prayer flags making the journey enjoyable. Cross the Imja Khola (river) bridge, and the trail ascends towards Pangboche. You can have a delicious lunch at Pangboche with the towering Mt. Ama Dablam just upfront. Continue your trekking towards Dingboche, agriculture and animal husbandry are the main occupations of the local people. Buckwheat, barley, and potatoes are the major crops grown. Accommodation at the Good Luck Hotel includes an attached bathroom.

You can stroll around the village and have an in-depth conversation with locals about the lifestyle. It is recommended to hike up to Nagarjuna Hill for a close-up view of Makalu (8,463 m). The sunset view is so beautiful at Makalu. An alternative option is to explore the renowned Chhukung Valley, the splendid vistas of Nuptse, Lothse, and Ama Damlam. After lunch, consider hiking up to Chhukung Ri for the finest view of Island Peak. Getting back to the hotel in Dingboche late in the in the afternoon for the rest of the time to enjoy and rest for tomorrow's hike.

Start your day leaving Dingboche approaching Dhukla passing picturesque landscapes with a view of snow-capped mountains. Dhukla is the perfect sport to start a cup of hot tea/coffee. The trail ascends harder until the top, where you can see the memorial of Chorten (who had lost their life during the Everest expedition) The trail takes you through the Moraine of Khumbu glacier, offering views of Pumori and Nuptse. Arrival and check-in Hotel with attached bathroom at 8000 Inn

This is the key segment on the way to Everest Base Camp. Gorakshep is the last settlement before reaching EBC. The trail takes you through the mountains, and the trails weave their way through ice pinnacles and past the crevasses of Khumbu Glacier. Lobuche to Gorak Shep is three hours walking distance, but you may feel tired and weak from the high altitude. You will have breath-taking views of the high mountains around you. After having a brief lunch and rest, walk to EBC, which will take about 2.5 hours and 4 km. one way. From base camp, you can see Pomari, Kumbuste, and Nuptse and of course, you can have some chat with brave climbers. Return to the lodge and stay overnight.

• Today, early morning hiking up to Kala Patthar which takes around two hours. Requested to catch the dramatic view from Kala Patthar. The first ray of the sun changes its color into red, followed by gold in the evening. There will be no one to disturb your peace of mind, the gentle breeze of fresh air eases your body and soul.

After returning from the Kala Patthar viewpoint, have breakfast, and be ready for the iconic Helicopter flight to Kathmandu. The most exciting and adventurous flight that you ever experienced.

Sometimes unexpected natural disasters can compel us to change the itinerary and if so you have to understand it but we would try our best to keep the suggested itinerary as per the original schedule.

Because of the demands of the Everest Base Camp trek (5,545 m), a Passenger Self-Assessment Form is required to fill out for this trip. So please remember!

Your safety and satisfaction of the trip will be the prime concern while traveling with us and the Trek to Nepal travel and tour team will ensure you our best guide and crew team, logistics, and professional services to make sure that you have an amazing trip of a lifetime with us. Also note that the trip leader from GAT deserves the final decision if the trip has to be amended, changed route, or canceled due to the extreme conditions for safety precautions. However, he will try his best to ensure that the trip runs according to the stated plan but be prepared for flexibility if, necessary.

Passport and visa

All of you should have a 6-month valid passport by the time of travel to Nepal. To get an arrival visa for Nepal, please bring a COVID Vaccination Card/Certificate just in case, and cash in USD. The visa costs 30 USD, 50 USD, and 125 USD for 15 /30 and 90 days respectively. Now you can apply online before you travel.

Travel Insurance for Comfortable Everest trekking

Travel Insurance is required for the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek. Double-check your insurance covers you for your planned trek/activities, including travel and trekking up to 5,000 m and it should be included on your itinerary, mountain rescue, helicopter evacuation, and hospital costs.

Flight Note: All the Lukla sector flights are going to operate from Manthali Airport (Ramechhap) due to the air traffic. None of the air companies are going to operate from KTM. Effective from 1st October 2023 till further notice.
