Langtang-Helambu Trekking is one of the most beautiful and scenic treks in the Langtang region. The trekking starts from Syabrubesi, a 6-hour drive from Kathmandu, and ends in beautiful Helambu. The trail passes through Langtang National Park, the first Himalayan national park in Nepal. The park comes alive with wildlife activities every day. Especially the blooming of rhododendrons during spring attracts one and all.

As you climb to Langtang Valley, the trail moves from rich subtropical forests of oak, birch, and pine to alpine meadows and yak pastures. In Langtang Valley, you will visit Kyangin Gompa, which provides spectacularly breathtaking views of the Langtang ranges, including Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and Langshisha. Also, visit Langtang village, which was recently devastated by an earthquake in 2015, and take a side trip to observe the majestic Langtang Glacier. Besides the Kyangin Buddhist monastery, there is a cheese factory run by the local community. The major inhabitants of this region are the Tamang community, which follows Tibetan Buddhism. Please see our detailed itinerary with the cost and services that GAT offers for the Langtang Helambu Trek

After having well acclimatized in Langtang Valley, you will be approaching Gosaikunda Lake. Gosaikunda Lake is another beautiful and scenic view of the whole trek. There are about 108 different lakes, and several can be seen around; the Gosaikunda is the biggest one. This trek is a mixture of adventure and spirituality. This place is the abode of the Hindu deities Shiva and Parvati. The challenging part of this trek is the crossing of Laurebina Pass at 4,609 m/15,117 ft. to visit the sacred lake of Gosaikunda at 4,300 m/14,104 ft. From here, you drop off in the Helambu region. The Langtang Helambu trek hosts beautiful Tamang and Sherpa villages with their unique culture. Langtang Helambu Trekking is a small circuit trek over Gosaikunda Lake.
