Ganesh Himal Ruby Valley Trekking is a newly opened trekking in north-central Nepal touching four districts, Dhading, Rasuwa, Gorkha, and Nuwakot. Being a new trekking area, there are rarely a few trekkers trekking around. The Ruby Valley trekking is the best trekking destination who would like to hide the bunch of touring caravans and experience the local culture, and unbelievable landscapes of nature in their pristine form.

Ruby Valley trekking begins after 7 hrs bus drive to Gatlang. The driving is very much exciting through the Trisuli Village, Langtang National Park, and Syabru Bensi. There is always much more to explore in this area, but we are trying to propose some trekking routes to visit the highlight of the Ganesh Himal trek. The attraction of the Ganesh Himal Ruby Valley trek is to witness the beautiful Ganesh Himalayan ranges in central Himalaya between Manaslu Circuit trekking in the west and Langtang Valley Trek in the East. The trail passes through some of the most remote villages of Nepal such as Tipling, Jharlang, and Sertung. The majority of the people inhabiting this region are Tamangs, one of the indigenous communities of the Himalayas. Other communities will come across are Chhetri, Gurung, and Blacksmith.

The difficulty level of this Pansang la pass at 3,900 m./12,795 ft. is the highest point of Ruby Valley Trekking. You will have plenty of opportunities to view majestic Himalayan peaks such as Manaslu 8,156 m./ 26,735 ft.Langtang and Ganesh Himalayan ranges, Paldor peak, Boudha Himal, Hinchuli, Pabil Himal, etc. outlook points along the trek. The region is also a treasure house for ecological biodiversity ranging from rhododendron forests to hot springs, rivers, waterfalls, etc.

  • Day 02: Kathmandu valley sightseeing
  • Day 03: Kathmandu bus to Syabru Bensi 117 km./73 miles(1530 m), 7 hrs.
  • Day 04: Syabru Bensi-Somdang 25 km./15 miles/ 3,270 m./10,725 ft/ 8 hrs.
  • Day 05: Day hike to View point and back.
  • Day 06: Somdang trek to Tipling over Pangsang pass 6 km./3.7 miles/ 3,840 m./5,905 ft./ 8 hrs.
  • Day 07: Tipling trek to Sertung 7 km./5 miles/1,700 m./5,570 ft./3 hrs.
  • Day 08: Sertung trek to Borang 6 km./ 4 miles/1,500 m./4,925 ft./8 hrs.
  • Day 09: Borang Trek to Andhi Khola 3 hrs.-Bus to Kathmandu 100 km./62 miles/4 hrs.

Itinerary

GAT staffs will meet you at Kathmandu Airport (TIA) upon your arrival and transfer to Hotel. In the afternoon tour briefing followed by a stroll around local market.

Today you will explore Kathmandu Valley by visiting world Heritage sites including Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, and Buddha Stupa

Our overland trips start from Kathmandu through Trisuli Bazaar, Ramche, Dhunche Bazaar and Syabru Bensi. The road till Trisuli is very smooth and the dots road begins to Dhunche. This is an exciting drive with the view of waterfalls, local village and through the Langtang National Park. The lunch will be served along the way and it is local food.

Syabru Bensi is situated on the bank of Bhote Khosi which flow from Langtang Glacier. After having a good breakfast we begin the trek. The first part of the trek until Gatlang we suggest to take a bus service 1.5 hrs and trek to Somdang. This is a beautiful village with Barley and corn terrace and on the northeast, the Langtang Lirung is smiling at you. Ascend up to Yuri Kharka through Rhododendron pine forest for the lunch break and Keep continue to Somdang

Pangsang Kharka is the best viewpoint of this Ruby Valley Trek southwest of Somdang village. To the North the soaring peak of Mt. Manaslu (8156 m) and Ganesh Himal (7422 m). Visit the Paldor peak base camp which is developing for the training peak in Nepal. Not only mountain views are the highlight, the abundant Zinc mining, many herbal plants which need to be purified, explore the ancient trade route to Tibet. The locals were used to exchange their herbal pants for salt with Tibetan merchant.

You will begin your trek early in the morning for Pangsang pass to Tipling. This is not hard but difficult because of the long hours of walking. The views are amazing from the top. After 4 hrs uphill you will reach on the top of Pangsang La. Along the ridge, you will see many colorful prayer flags, Mani stone, and Mountain on the background. Descend to Tipling for another 3 hrs and visit the Tipling village. This village is mainly inhabitant by Tamang and Gurung tribes who performs The Jhankri Dance (Shaman)

Sertung is another village en route of Ruby Valley Trekking. Visit the Natural hot spring for your hot bathe and trek to Sertung. Today you will be having leisure day to visit a local village, participate for the Saman Dance in the evening if the Jhankri is available in the village. Enjoy the local culture and custom and overnight at the local village

Morning visits the Devi temple and treks down to the valley, you are crossing the suspension bridge and reached Chalise village. Chalise and Sertung village are close to each other. Experience the local village life and overnight at local house.

Today you are trekking about 2/3 hrs. and catch a local jeep to Dhading Bensi. This is an off-road drive to the district headquarters of Dhading Bensi. Once we reach Dhading then we can have another bus to Kathmandu.

Ganesh Himal Ruby valley trekking is an underrated trekking in central Nepal. This is a hidden trekking trail of the Ganesh Himal region where you may experience typical Gurung and Tamang culture. 

The road to the Syabru Bensi is well paved but there is no scheduled deluxe tourist but and has to travel by public bus. 

The accommodation is basic and has to stay with a local family. We are offering this trek for your lifetime experience.
