The Ganjala Pass trek is one of the most adventurous trekking trails in the Langtang region. The trail involves crossing one of the highest Ganga La passes, located at an altitude of 5,106 m/16,747 ft.
The trek starts from Syabrubesi, passes through Lama Hotel, Kyanjing Gomba, and Lantang Village, and drops to Helambu region via Ganga La pass. The Galnjala pass trek follows the Langtang Valley trek until Kyangin Gompa and takes a right turn towards Ganjala Peak. The area falls within Langtang National Park, which is home to rare species such as Red Panda, Black Bears, and even Snow Leopards. You will come across many Tamang villages on this trek while enjoying a beautiful panoramic view of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Yala Peak, Naya Kanga, Gaurishanker and the Annapurna Himalayan range.
Visiting Kyangjin Monastery at a height of 3,049 m/10,050 ft. will present you with breathtaking views of Langtang peaks. During springtime, the forest comes to life with Rhododendrons blooming on all sides. You will also visit a cheese factory set up by the Swiss Association for Technical Assistance in 1955. Explore Langsisha Kharka and Tserku RI and prepare for the adventure of Ganjala Pass. Once you cross the pass, you will enter the Helambu region, which is different from what you had seen in Langtang Valley.
Ganjala Pass Trek is the most challenging trek in Langtang Helambu trekking. We have to fix the rope to go over a pass; for at least 3 nights, you should sleep in the tented accommodation. This three-day trek is a long one to complete the Ganjala and come down to the Helambu trekking region.
